March Resident of the Month

Johnstown Pointe loves to get to know our residents on a personal level and truly connect with them. We love serving the community here in Johnstown, Ohio, and getting the opportunity to meet some amazing individuals who come into our facility. We wanted to take a moment to spotlight Iva Gruver as our March Resident of the Month!

Iva was born in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, in July 1956. She has lived all over, including Oklahoma, Kansas, and Ohio(Lancaster, Newark, Zanesville, and, of course, Johnstown). When Iva was a child, she said she was a tomboy and wanted to become a cowboy. Iva has one son named James. She loves her family very much and enjoys spending time with her grandsons. One of her grandsons is 21 and lives in Georgia, while the other is two years old and lives in Oklahoma.



Some of Iva's favorite hobbies include horseback riding and watching sports, including basketball and football. OSU is her favorite! One of her favorite meals is a good steak with a salad. A fact that you might not know about Iva is that she used to be a bartender and bouncer for 35 years. She said that she mostly bounced men! Iva’s words of advice, "If people don’t get their jobs done, fire them."
